This hand-knitted product is made from 100% sheep wool. The shades of grey, brown and cream are completely natural, while other colours are produced using azo-free dyes. Wool has natural antibacterial properties. Wool is one of the most sustainable fabrics in existence, it is renewable and biodegradable and requires relatively little water for its production. The wastage yarn from the AURA QUE wool knit collection is used to create our eco waste wool designs, so not a scrap is wasted! Our leather is sourced from a small family tannery in Kolkata and road-freighted to Kathmandu in bulk, to be used for all our leather and suede products; all chemicals used in the process are contained and reprocessed within the water treatment facility on site. Leather is the traditional material for 3rd wedding anniversary gifts.

Handmade by a small Nepalese workshop affiliated with the Nepal Leprosy Trust, who employ marginalised people, giving them opportunities through work. We have worked with the team since 2006 developing new products, improving skills and providing equipment for the workshop. As a World Fair Trade Organisation certified member, the workshop give their employees a fair living wage, health care benefits and monthly contributions to their children's school fees.
